Historical Research
TEACHING
ABOUT THIS CLASS
This class prepares students for the academic rigors of their graduate studies and provides them with a future foundation for critical thinking in the information age. Along the way, we practice navigating both the conventional and cutting-edge elements of information science, from the elements of style and form in writing, to the challenges of meta-data in virtual catalogs and archives. In special research projects, we explore the historical challenges presented by music notation, editions and performance, and by extension the interpretation of social contexts and the meanings of musical works.
